Please remember to keep small children and pets away from the construction site.
For the next 8-10 weeks, your backyard will be overrun with staff and swimming pool construction equipment. Your backyard has now become a construction site and will look like one until the end of the process when your dream becomes a reality. This process has many moving parts and at times we will be waiting on city inspections, weather or other scheduling before work can continue. Please be patient and understand that this is a journey that will get you to the end result.
Please remember to keep small children and pets away from the construction site. Unfortunately, we cannot always give the homeowner a heads up when the workers will be there. During this process we will do our best to keep you informed as much as possible. Please be prepared for the crews to be on site unannounced. Through this process, please feel free to ask Stephen or Suzanne any questions you may have.
First, we meet with you in person at your home to discuss your options and visualizations for your pool.
Once you have decided on the ideal swimming pool to fit your lifestyle desires and budget, the contract is set in motion, the construction of your backyard dream begins
In the first physical phase of construction, you will witness the layout of forms to outline the shape of your pool, plus the distance required to encompass the thickness of concrete. After these forms are staked firmly in place and checked for accuracy, the excavation begins.
Every excavation varies according to access. Arrangements will have been made to move any fences, obstructions or secure a letter of agreement for access to neighbor’s property, etc. Some dirt will be left for later use once the concrete shell is shot. The hole will be shaped to the proper depth and dimensions be shaped to the proper depth and dimensions.
Immediately after the hole is dug, the steel crew will begin putting in a cage made of 3/8″ steel bars, bent to fit the contour of your pool. The plumbing stub out for any drains, as well as water returns from the filter, jets and light housings, will also be installed at this time.
We are ready for our first construction inspection, the steel inspection.
Next, the interior of the pool is shot with concrete into the steel grid walls, that were create in the previous step. This will provide the hard surfaces necessary for the interior of your pool.
This completes the first major stage of construction on your pool.
We then install the plumbing, trenches are dug, and the pipes routed to the pre-selected location where they will be attached to the pump, filter, heater, etc.
We will allow the Gunite to cure before tiling and coping your pool. The quality installation of your tile and coping will be one of the most visible features when your pool is complete.
The equipment will be placed on a special pad and pressurized to check for leaks. City inspections may follow depending on location.
Our experienced crew will make sure that your pool will have the proper installation that will go to your equipment. City inspections and permits may be required depending on location.
With all the different options available for decking, the installation procedures here vary greatly. Concrete decks will need to be formed, poured and topped with your choice of decorative toppings. Paver decks go down piece by piece, and consist of a variety of different shapes, colors and patterns.
Plastering your pool is to ensure a waterproof seal. Once plastering is complete, your pool is ready to fill with water. Once it’s filled, we will now begin the start-up of chemicals.
We treat your yard as if it were our own. Upon completion, excess concrete, dirt and debris from the project will be removed.
We make sure every one of our customers has the proper knowledge to successfully operate their brand-new pool. Pool School is designed to teach you about your pool equipment and how it operates. Stephen will set up a convenient time to go over all the equipment and care instructions with you.
